David’s Bridal and a Wonderful Surprise

 Catch the Crave!

It started out as a really bad day for me. I had just found out that my Vow Renewal/Wedding dress that I had drooled over and purchased from a local bridal store was now 3 sizes too big. I have been trying to eat much healthier and because of this went from a size 28/30 down to a wonderful 22/24. The local store was all sold out of dresses in my size. So I decided to drive the 2 hours to David’s Bridal in Nashua NH.

I knew David’s Bridal would have a dress in my size and price range on the rack. I also know they have great seamstresses on hand to deal with all of the adjustments that would be needed and on short notice. So, my day was starting to turn around.

I walk into David’s Bridal and I am met by the greeting staff who asked me who I was and what I was looking for and as soon as I tell them who I am and they look up my appointment they hand a gift to me.

I opened up my box and saw all of these wonderful goodies. .

This is what I saw when I opened it!

A couple I use already, but I was shocked to see that full size Cupcake Couture Bath and Body wash. It smelled heavenly and my bad day was quickly turning around.

Then I saw the Jergens natural Glow & Protect Daily Moisturizer minis. I already use Jergens, but I have been skeptical of the ones that enhance skin color, but I figured I would give it a try and now 3 days later there is a slightly warmer tone to my skin. I cannot wait to see what 6 weeks of use will do.

My 17 y/o daughter grabbed the Motrin PM and said she was snagging that for herself. This is the only brand we use in our house already, but the pm really helps make sleep more comfortable. Sarah and I suffer monthly issues so Motrin is our go to. This just solidified my love of the company.

The Pantene mousse was a nice addition too. I love mousse because I have fine-thin and limp hair. Pantene Mousse is light and holds the style very well.

And then as if it could not get any better I found THE DRESS. It took less than a half an hour to find the perfect dress for me! They did not have it in a 22 so I went with the 24 and they fit it to me in less-than 15 minutes. They had it pinned and tucked to fit me like a glove. My dress will be ready for pick-up in just a couple weeks and with enough time for a second fitting should I lose more weight!

My David’s Bridal experience was amazing and that Crave Box was exactly what I needed to brighten my day!

I love my Crave box so much that I went and signed up online for more info about these boxes and I signed up to win another crave box as well as signed up to receive the Zataran’s Crave Box. I don’t know if I will win the option to purchase, but I really do hope to.

The next Crave box I would like to get my hands on is the Book Lover’s and Beautiful by You Crave Boxes!

A Spiritual Journey: Don’t Forget The Journal!

Spiritual Journey – A Quest!

So, it is that time of year again! I am about to embark on a new Spiritual Journey- A Quest to find out more about myself and my world views.

“We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey“. Stephen R. Covey

What does a spiritual journey mean to me?

I also need to think about what I want to do and what I hope to accomplish.

Last year I spent time reflecting on my Native American roots and my Native Name. I drummed and I sang and I sat by the fire. I grew and I learned. It was also when I got word that my Grandfather Herrmann was about to pass. I had to leave early and I remember now just how poignant that weekend was for me. I got a chance to reflect on where I had been and where I was going and that included stories from my grandfather and grandmother.

Now it is time to reflect again. . .

It is not important to explain what I hope to achieve this time, but it is important to understand the process that I use.

I hope that you do not do this as a one time event, but repeat this a couple times a year, or at least once a year.

Now, Where to begin?. .

I always start by thinking about my journey as a quest.

What images and ideas do you conjure when you think of a quest?

I don’t mean slaying a dragon, or rolling some dice (DnD), or by clicking the mouse (RPG). I mean a true to quest with life altering rewards!

A simple tarp for wind and rain protection

This is similar to the design I use

And then what?

This is actually a lot easier than you might think. You always start with how you view the process.

  • This quest can be for self-knowledge.
  • Achieving a goal: such as building a spiritual space, or it could be exploring how you view an idea or a concept.
  • Or it could be for some other purpose.

This is just supposed to be time for YOU to spend time with YOU!

Just remember that these answers may change. You are basing these on your current view of how you see and interact with your world.

So get out a piece of paper or better yet, your journal!

Now think about these questions. . .

  1. What kind of quest do I want to take?
  2. Do I want it to be easy and relaxing?
  3. Do I want to work on building an idea or project?
  4. What do I hope to have accomplished by taking up this quest?

Now write what you think your Spiritual Journey  will focus on. Remember each quest has a series of sub-goals and achievements.

  • Write out what these sub-goals and achievements look like to you.

These are all just starting points.

Part of the journey is learning to see and overcome obstacles. These can be weather, or some other situational aspect, but what if you are exploring an idea and all of a sudden that idea no longer fits how you view your world? Remember what I said above? Part of the idea of a spiritual journey is to broaden and then focus in on your world view and your personal view. These may or may not coincide cohesively.

What kinds of obstacles do you think you will face?

How do you think you will over come them?

Make shift Shelter

Lean-to

Location Location Location. . .

Now that you have an idea for the kind of quest you would like to go on, and some of the issues that you may face,  where do you hope this quest may take place?

While the location is important, it is also important to be safe.

What kinds of things do you think you will need?

Are you going to a hotel?

Are you going to your back yard?

Are you going camping?

Hiking?

Boating?

Other?

However, did you think about going on a spiritual journey in your mind alone?

You do not need to physically go anywhere. if you have a vivid imagination and have the ability to develop the journey in your mind’s eye you can do anything. This can be the most rewarding kind of spiritual journey because it really is between you and your views of your world and you can develop and explore as much, or as little as you want at each point and you can come and go from there a lot more easily.

My favorite places to go:

I love to go camping and explore nature while being completely exposed. I do not like to use tents, or to use a lean-to. I prefer a tarp, a sleeping-bag, a knife for protection, matches, water, herbs, spices, couple teaspoons of honey and a LEAVE-NO-TRACE mentality.

This is a lightweight fire-bowl that I can bring with me on my journey. It protects the ground from fire damage and is easily extinguished.

Summer Solstice Fire

Summer Solstice Fire 2011

I go to rivers, lakes and oceans. I go where my heart and feet will carry me and I go with an open mind, body and spirit.

If you are not going to an area well-known to you then I suggest 3 extra days of dried foods. I want to leave the area as undisturbed as when I arrived. I do not want to break or fell any living thing: this means plants and animals.

The main point to this journey is that it is for you to develop your mind, body and soul. There is no wrong way to go on a journey as long as you go with the right attitude.

Let me know how your  journey went.

And don’t forget that journal!!!

Another Journey and New Beginnings:

A journey begins when another ends.

Now I am on another journey. Well, It is said that life is a series of journeys. In order to grow we must follow a path to where it takes us and at the next juncture redetermine our path.

Another Journey: Meditation

This is me in my yard in front of my little rock garden.

I am about to embark on another journey.

I am beginning another new path , another journey. It is interesting when we follow our hearts where our heart leads us. I am returning to my home. The place where my journey began and where it will never end! I am re-opening my heart and my home to each of you. I want to build our beliefs on a single core value that being spiritual is not in a building, but is found in our homes and in our hearts.

I loved having my office in Keene, NH. However, I found that I was never there. I wanted to grow spiritually and this space has allowed me to do that, but in a different way. I found I kept being called home and to my clients locations. I now know that I need to focus on my website work full time and keep teaching others that being spiritual is an ever growing process and one that never ends, but doing this without feeling like I HAVE TO! It is because I want to. Having an office made me feel like I HAD to do this, or that and if I was not then I was not being spiritual. However, when I was home I wanted to be doing this or that. So, here it is. Spirituality is NOT found in a building but in our hearts and in our homes and in the places we love.  This is a GREAT example of that spiritual growth that I experienced. I do not need a fancy office for you to join me in your growth either.

You do need a warm and engaging environment conducive to spiritual growth. Living on Forest Lake and SHARING my home and the lake turns out to be the perfect place. Not to mention so many of you were traveling from Troy, Richmond and Winchester to begin with.

on wards and upwards Another Journey

I hope you will join me in this new phase and on another journey of self and spiritual discovery! And I hope to continue to grow with each of you!

Food for Thought

Where is your journey taking you?

Is there an end goal in sight?

What is your biggest wish for this journey?

What do you hope to find on your journey called life?

Blessings of Peace, Love, Light, GROWTH and Healing!
